Random House Worlds – Locus Online

Penguin Random House has announced a new imprint, Random House Worlds, ”dedicated entirely to licensed book publishing. ”The imprint will host media-related books from ”Star Wars, Minecraft, Stranger Things, Garfield, Magic: The Gathering, Lore Olympus, Critical Role and others.” Del Rey Vice President and Associate Publisher, Keith Clayton, will assume the position of director of publication. All licensed brands published by Del Rey and other imprints ‘under the Random House division will now migrate their frontlist and backlist titles to the new Random House Worlds imprint beginning in 2023.’
Clayton says, “With a unified publishing strategy spanning multiple formats and genres, the Random House Worlds approach will allow us to have a conversation with readers, retailers and partners, delivering best-in-class service to licensors. and the highest quality. content to passionate fandoms.”
Kristin Conte will be Commercial Director of Licensing and Trademarks; Sarah Malarkey will be editorial director for non-fiction and illustrated; Elizabeth Schaefer will serve as editorial director for fiction; and Alex Larned will serve as Senior Publishing Director for Del Rey & Random House Worlds.
