We are hiring! We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Catalog Registrations team at our London office!


YOUR MISSION AT BMG

BMG Catalog is the fastest growing catalog department of any record label in the UK. With a team of approx. 50 people, this is a fast growing department with a broad mission. As part of the World Circuit & Trojan repertoire team, you will be responsible for producing all new releases and re-releases in physical and digital formats, as well as participating in marketing initiatives and social media activity. for labels and their artists.

As a Product Manager, you will need to be organized and adaptable, react quickly to the demands of the role, and be able to execute multiple projects simultaneously. You will be a good communicator and able to liaise effectively with Marketing, Licensing, Sales and Design teams as well as artist managers and, at times, directly with artists.

Objectives of the role:

Prepare and manage physical and digital releases. Work with the Director of Directory and Director of Marketing in implementing our marketing and dissemination plans. Oversee and create content for social media channels owned by World Circuit and associated artists.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product management:

  • Create a production schedule for new releases, ensuring products are on track for the agreed release date.
  • Liaise with production team to gather all manufacturing quotes and ensure correct designs are issued to designers.
  • Perform research on the Internet, catalog and photo library if necessary
  • Ensure that the correct internal and external clearance has been obtained for images for all release formats
  • Coordinate designs, label copying, fretboard notes, photos and artwork with designers
  • Arrange mastering and delivery of all relevant audio formats to factory correct specifications
  • Proofread material from internal and external designers, including album artwork.
  • Check and approve all artwork and audio/audiovisual masters
  • Manage/oversee all administration around new releases including creating sell sheets, updating the department’s release schedule, ensuring all new releases are set up in ‘Capture’ , ‘Release’ and ‘Store’ and submitted in time for pre-orders, uploading packshots, audio and video into BMG’s asset management system
  • Generate ISRC codes, barcodes and chat numbers for new releases
  • Configure products on D2C and organize pre-backups ahead of announcement dates, help build and maintain LinkFire links
  • Create and maintain sales tools including sell sheets, presenters and catalogs

Marketing:

  • Create and maintain a comprehensive social media plan for WC and focus artists on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok
  • Work with Marketing Manager on World Circuit audio and AV playlist strategy and updates
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to oversee the delivery of new visual content for YouTube and social promotion
  • Update copy and images on WC website as needed
  • Support Director of Directory Management and Marketing Manager on strategy/timelines/creation/assets

General Administration / A&R Administration:

  • Respond to inquiries from the public and third parties on social media and through the website contact form
    Coordinate sessions and paperwork for artists, studios and session musicians
  • Book travel and accommodation for artist promotional trips

YOUR PROFILE:
  • 2 years of product management experience in a record label
  • Experience writing copy and creating content for social media channels
  • Efficiency, organization, multi-tasking, communication, attention to detail, positive attitude.
  • Microsoft Office suite, proficiency in Excel
  • Evolution of the music and recording industry.

It’s a plus if you also have…

  • Knowledge of a wide range of music.
  • Physical and digital marketing.
  • Ability to speak French and/or Spanish
  • Basic Photoshop, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
  • Social media and technology.
